Finding Some Unusual Attractions at Disney World
Once you have your Disney World tickets, you may be eager to see the famous Disney attractions, such as Epcot and Magic Kingdom. While these attractions are terrific, if you can snag some Disney World discounts, you can also check out some of less obvious attractions available. By looking for Sea World discounts and universal discounts, you can visit some attractions and parks that take you well beyond Magic kingdom.
For example, you might want to visit the wildlife discovery park known as Animal Kingdom. This park is organized around the central Tree of Life, with different continents grouped around it. Here, you can find both Disney rides and naturalistic animal exhibitions. One ride in this park takes you through a dinosaur park, while the classic Jeep safari (known as Kilimanjaro Safari) takes you close to live animal enclosures. The Pangani Forest Exploration Trail allows you to walk through an area near gorillas and other African wildlife. Animal Kingdom also boasts a rather famous raft ride that takes visitors through the deforestation of a tropical rainforest.
If you like water parks, you will love Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. This newer park boasts thrill slides, a small wave pool, and kid-friendly areas. You might also want to visit Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, which boasts one of the world’s largest wave pools, lots of slides, and a snorkeling lagoon with living sharks. The theme of this park is a tropical beach, and you will want to take that theme to heart with plenty of sunscreen – with the reflection of the water and the Florida sun, it’s very easy to get burned in this park.
If you are tired of all the rides, there is a surprisingly impressive array of good foods and restaurants to try at Disney World. Cinderella’s Royal Table, for example, lets you eat in Cinderella Castle. The 50’s Prime Time Cafe is a kitchen modeled by classic 50’s sitcoms. The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is a 1950s drive-in movie theatre that lets you watch movies and eat dinner at the same time. In Animal Kingdom, the Rainforest Cafe has very cool special effects as well as notably good food. The Coral Reef Restaurant lets you eat with a view of the main aquarium. In Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Victoria & Albert’s is the only AAA Five-Diamond rated restaurant in central Florida. It is also the place for fine dining at Disney. It is definitely for adults and not for family dining. At Disney’s Contemporary Resort, the California Grill offers wonderful fresh food as well as a great view. Book in advance, as seats go fast.
If you feel you have absorbed all that Disney has to offer, you might want to consider checking out Orlando, Florida nearby. Orlando has museums, a great nightlife, lots of great restaurants, art galleries, museums, and more. Of course, there are also many beaches in the Orlando area, which may be especially appreciated if you are visiting Disney World from destinations that feature long winters.
